What Is Ozone Therapy?

Ozone therapy is an alternative medicine treatment that boosts the body's healing mechanism by adding ozone gas to the blood. Ozone is an energized form of oxygen that is composed of three oxygen atoms and has powerful healing potential. Once ozone is injected into the blood, it helps the cells to generate more energy while stimulating the immune response. At Cameron Wellness and Spa, Drs. Todd Cameron and Shawn Postma perform high dose ozone therapy to treat many different health conditions and illnesses, including cancer, GI disorders, chronic pain, circulation problems, autoimmune conditions, and many more. To get your personalized treatment plan, please schedule an appointment at our Salt Lake City, UT facility.

How Ozone Therapy Works

During a consultation at Cameron Wellness and Spa, one of our doctors will perform an exam and assess your health history. A personalized treatment plan will then be created to address your specific concerns. Once you are relaxed comfortably, high dose ozone therapy will be performed by drawing a sample of blood from your vein. The blood will be mixed with ozone gas in a special container before it is returned to your body through an IV drip. This process helps increase oxygenation within the blood and boosts the body's ability to fight off infection. The treatment generally takes about an hour or less. Most patients will need 6 – 10 ozone treatments to achieve the best results. You should begin to notice improvements after the first 3 – 4 treatments.
