What Are the Causes of Digestive Issues?
There are many different types of digestive disorders that patients might be experiencing or have experienced at some time in their lives. Accordingly, there may be many different causes for general digestive issues, including trigger foods, a poorly balanced diet, not drinking enough water, poor nutrient absorption, stress, and more. With SIBO, the disorder is caused by an abundance of bacteria in the small intestine, and could be spurred by effects related to older age, physical damage to the intestine, medical issues, or some medicines. For IBD, the exact cause is unknown, but it is suspected that immune system dysfunction and genetics may be at fault. H. pylori issues are caused by Helicobacter pylori bacteria that are normally transmitted via person-to-person contact, but can also be found in contaminated food and water.
