During a PRP facial, plasma-rich protein and platelets from your own blood are used as a serum combined with a microneedling treatment. The result is a triggered production of collagen and elastin that smooths fine lines and wrinkles, restores volume and refines skin’s texture. Results are visible immediately and skin continues to produce collagen and elastin up to 6 months after treatment with results improving over time.
PRP therapy is a three-step process requiring 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Unlike laser treatments, you can repeat microneedling as often as you want without creating unwanted scar tissue. PRP can also soften and erase scars and stretch marks and the results generally are permanent.
To care for your skin after a PRP or microneedling treatment, use a very gentle cleanser and tepid water to cleanse the skin for 72 hours following treatment. Gently dry the treated area after rinsing and make sure your hands are as clean as possible throughout the day. It is recommended that you do not use powder makeup brushes for up to seven days after your treatment to prevent the spread of bacteria to freshly healing skin.
PRP is a relatively painless treatment. Client comfort is our primary concern. You will receive the appropriate combination of numbing creams 20 minutes before your procedure to ensure you are as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment. Your skin may feel dry or tight for up to a week after treatment though most patients feel healed and refreshed within a few days.
